The College has committed to paying its staff at least the Oxford Living Wage, an hourly minimum rate of pay that promotes liveable earnings for all workers and recognises the high cost of living in Oxford.

Professor Gunn will serve as Research/Academic Trustee of the Royal Armouries for a four-year period from 1 March 2021 to 28 February 2025.

Oxford physicists head to PLANCKS international final
Merton Physics undergraduate Andrei Eftime is on the Oxford team who took first place at this year's UK & Ireland preliminary round of The Physics League Across Numerous Countries for Kick-ass Students; they now go forward to the international finals in May.

Greek archaeology 'Companion' named as 2020 Choice Outstanding Academic Title
‘A Companion to the Archaeology of Early Greece and the Mediterranean’, co-edited by Merton's Irene S Lemos, Professor of Classical Archaeology, and one of her former students, Antonios Kotsonas, has been named as one of the 2020 ‘Choice’ Outstanding Academic Titles.

Mark Coote appointed as Director of Development
Mark joins Merton from Christ Church, where he has been Director of Development since October 2017, having previously served as CEO of the Wells Cathedral School Foundation.

Honorary Fellow Guy Weston knighted in New Year Honours List
Guy Weston (1978), Honorary Fellow of Merton College and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Garfield Weston Foundation, has been knighted in the New Year Honours for services to philanthropy and charity.
