Merton Society Mentoring Scheme - Mentee application form

Which year did you complete your undergraduate studies at Merton?
What was your undergraduate degree subject?
Please be as specific as possible, but at the same time, please understand that we may not be able to meet all your preferences, although we will try! The sort of characteristics you might like to think about are: whether you want to be mentored by a person who graduated from Merton in the same subject as you, and/or by someone who works in the same sector as you; it is perfectly acceptable to ask for a mentor of a particular gender if that is important to you.
It would help us to have as much information at this stage as you feel able to share.
[The sort of issues you might want to discuss are: career progression, work-life balance, boosting confidence and resilience, developing as a leader, building effective relationships, managing up.]
Are you willing to commit to the expectations charter which will govern this mentoring pilot?
[Note: you are not being asked to agree to anything at the moment. The information you need will be sent in due course, and you will be asked to agree to it formally at that stage.]
Are you willing to confide in your mentor, on the basis that the confidentiality which will attach to those discussions will not be absolute, and the mentor may disclose the content of the discussions in certain specific situations which will be itemised in the expectations charter?
[Note: these situations are limited to instances where the mentor suspects a criminal offence may have been committed, and where the mentor fears for the wellbeing of the mentee.]
