Gail Fine to give the Keeling Lecture 2013/14

Merton Senior Research Fellow in Philosophy Professor Gail Fine will give the Keeling Lecture on 'Knowledge, Belief, and Perception in the Phaedo' in March 2014. The lecture series, organised by the Departments of Philosophy and Greek & Latin at University College London, commemorates Stanley Victor Keeling, a former head of the UCL Philosophy Department, who believed strongly in the importance of ancient philosophy.

On the previous day, Professor Fine, who also teaches at Cornell University, will be running a masterclass for graduate students which will centre on her more recent thoughts on the topic of 'Knowledge and Belief in Rep. V'.

The lecture is at 4:00-6:00pm on Wednesday 12 March 2014 at the Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre, Wilkins Building, UCL, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT. Admission is free and members of the public are welcome to attend; no registration is necessary.

Attendance at the Masterclass, which takes place at 4:00-6:00pm on Tuesday 11 March 2014 is limited to graduate students and registration before the deadline of Tuesday 25 February 2014 is required. To register or apply for a bursary, contact the organiser, Fiona Leigh.
