Date: Monday 13 May 2019
Time: 17:15 - 18:15
Venue
TS Eliot Theatre, Merton College

Speaker: The Lord Krebs Kt DPhil FRS FMedSci.

The Tinbergen Society were delighted to welcome Lord Krebs, renowned evolutionary ecologist and science policy specialist, to speak about one of the political stories of our time: Brexit. As a cross-bench peer since 2007, a current member of the House of Lords' EU Energy and Environment Sub-Committee, Lord Krebs has a particular knowledge and specialism in this topic. At a time when the public eye is focused on the political drama, Lord Krebs took us into the ramifications of our planned departure from the EU on the UK's environment, from agriculture to wild habitats, which will be significant and far-reaching.

As a recipient of the Frink Medal, Croonian Medal, Wooldridge Medal and Harben Gold Medal, plus as previous Chairman of NERC, the Food Standards Agency, former President of the British Science Association and former Principal of Jesus College, Lord Krebs has build a vast reputation and his experience in both science and policy is comprehensive; this proved to be an authoritative talk.
