Sir Howard Davies
He has published six books on economy and finance in the last 25 years, the most recent being The Chancellors: steering the British economy in crisis times (2022). Howard Davies, who matriculated in Modern History and Modern Languages in 1969, has been Chair of the NatWest Group since 2015. He is also Chair of Inigo Limited, of the London Library and the International Advisory Council of the Chinese securities regulator. And he is a visiting Professor at Sciences Po in Paris, where he teaches courses in financial regulation and central banking. Earlier in his career he worked for the Foreign Office, the Treasury, McKinsey and Co and the Audit Commission. He was then successively Director-General of the CBI, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, Chair of the Financial Services Authority and Director of the London School of Economics.
