Sir Callum McCarthy

Callum McCarthy graduated in Modern History in 1965. He has worked as a civil servant (including being Principal Private Secretary to Roy Hattersley in a Labour Government and Norman Tebbit in a Conservative Government), as a banker in London, Tokyo and New York, and as a regulator in the UK where he was the chairman of Ofgem, the energy regulator, between 1998 and 2003, and of the Financial Services Authority between 2003 and 2008. He has subsequently served on various bank and other boards.
