All members of Merton College are automatically registered to use the College Library. Please contact a member of staff if you experience any difficulties using your University card to borrow books.
The College is happy to provide reference access to current publications not held in any of the University libraries. It essential to contact the library in advance of your visit to arrange an appointment. Please bring your university card with you.
(Archives, Manuscripts, Early printed books, other special collections)
If you would like to schedule a research visit to consult manuscripts, archives, rare books or other special collections, please complete the Research Visit request form indicating the material you would like to consult. Please provide full descriptions, titles or reference numbers, where known.
Research consultations normally take place Wednesdays – Fridays, 10:00am–12:00 noon and 1:30pm-4:30pm. An appointment is essential and places may be limited at busy times of year (for example, during the first half of July).
Please note that no appointments will be available between Wednesday 12 April and Friday 14 April inclusive. Please also be aware that research access in Trinity Term is very limited, and researchers are advised to contact the Librarian well in advance of their planned visit.
