Bunting on fence
Welcome to Merton!

As Dean of Graduates, I'm responsible for most aspects of graduate life in College, working closely with the Academic Office, and the welfare and student support teams. While you are at Merton you will also have a College Adviser, who will be a Merton Fellow or Lecturer with knowledge of the broad academic field in which you work. Your College Adviser will contact you when you arrive, but you are also very welcome to make an appointment to see me at any stage during your time at Merton. My email can be found here

You will find available on this site a wealth of information about Merton and Oxford in general, which you might find a useful supplement to the College Handbook. In addition to the college events organised in Freshers' Week, those of you on taught courses are invited to an Exams Forum on Monday 20th October at 5:15pm. The exams and submissions procedure at Oxford can be quite different from that at other institutions, and so we hope you will benefit from our short introduction.

I trust that you will have an enjoyable and fruitful time at Merton, and I look forward to meeting you at one of the graduate events at the start of Michaelmas term.

Best wishes,

Dr Kate Blackmon
Dean of Graduates
Tutor in Management Studies, Merton College
