Mertonian James Nation named on Rishi Sunak’s Resignation Honours List

James Nation (2008) has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) after being named in Rishi Sunak’s Resignation Honours List. Former deputy director of the Number 10 policy unit, James has received his OBE for political and public service.

James now works with Forefront Advisers, where he is a political insight specialist. Prior to his role in Number 10, he was a Special Advisor to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, a civil servant in both the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and the Treasury, and he worked in tax and fiscal policy at the CBI.

James said of the appointment:

"I was delighted and surprised to get appointed OBE in Rishi Sunak's resignation list. It was an honour to work closely with him in the Treasury and Number 10, alongside first rate colleagues and over a whirlwind four years".
