Merton College has submitted an outline planning application for high-quality employment space on land in the Wychavon district of Worcestershire. Merton College has a long-standing commitment to responsible land stewardship and sees this new development as a chance to benefit both its wider educational mission and the people and economy of Worcestershire.

The proposed development will provide space for a variety of uses to strengthen the local economy. The scheme could support around 1,650 on-site jobs and a further 2,900 off-site roles once it is operational, and there will be additional employment during construction.

The proposals are part of Merton College’s vision for a new neighbourhood – ‘Woodhall’. Woodhall is part of a wider new town identified in the South Worcestershire Development Plan and the Government’s New Towns programme.

Shaped through engagement with local stakeholders and detailed technical assessments, the scheme described in the Woodhall employment space application gives careful attention to landscape, heritage and environmental considerations. The application is now being considered by Wychavon District Council. You can view the application and supporting documents.
