Passiontide at Merton: Contemporary Reflections

Giles Underwood, a celebrated consort singer and conductor, directed a small group of professional singers in a programme of penitential choral music. Philip Moore’s Three Prayers of Dietrich Bonhoeffer contain some of his most outstanding unaccompanied choral writing, and Moore responds to these texts with music which is vivid, dramatic and moving. The programme also included choral works by Barber, Wolf and Stravinsky.
