Student Life: JCR Activities
Some JCR Activities
Cakes and Compliments | A termly tradition where compliments to fellow students are exchanged for cake. |
Decorate the Bar | A yearly event to decorate the Bar with photos of all the fun our students have had in their time at Merton. |
College Families | A JCR-organised scheme to make sure that all freshers have a student parent (or two) as a contact point when they join the College. The family unit ( ‘siblings’, ‘grandparents’ etc) is a great way of meeting others across year groups. |
Clothes Swaps | Opportunities to exchange clothes and help to save the planet. |
Sports Day | An annual chance to get competitive with a range of activities (not all of which require any sporting skill) |
Welfare teas | Regular opportunities to come together for a break, a chat and snacks, sometimes hosted by our JCR reps (e.g. an LGBTQ+ tea). |
Adopt a Finalist | A scheme to support our Finals students as they enter the exam period, usually with small treats delivered to their pigeonhole (mail box). |
