Since leaving Merton after my chemistry degree and DPhil I have had a "typical" academic career. I spent one year in the United States, and then two and a half years in Germany as a post-doctoral research associate before returning to Bristol University on an EPSRC Advanced Fellowship. I transferred the Fellowship when I was offered a lectureship at UEA, and have remained at UEA since then.
