Stephanie Grant (2004)

Assistant Headteacher

Having graduated from Merton with a degree in Physics in 2007, I stayed on an extra year to do a PGCE after getting to know the department in a second-year teaching scheme which replaced some labs. From 2008-2010 I worked in a comprehensive school in Hertfordshire teaching Physics. From 2010-2014 I moved to Highgate School in North London and since 2014 I have worked at Norwich School.

I have held a number of roles including an Ogden Trust sponsored outreach role (the highlight of which was organising an event in partnership with perhaps about 20 local schools which centred around a radio contact live with Tim Peake while he was on the ISS) and now my role is on the Senior Management Team as an Assistant Head (Pupil Progress).

I took an A-level in English Literature in 2023 (for fun!) and am interested in cross-curricular academic enrichment projects. I have enjoyed involvement in outdoor education in terms of extra-curricular pursuits in schools. I have refereed articles in Physics Education; a journal run by the IOP. I have two young children of primary school age and my husband is a teacher too. We love living near the sea in Norfolk and making the most of the countryside here.
