Sir Jack Beatson PC FBA served as a Lord Justice of Appeal from January 2013 to February 2018. He was previously a High Court judge in the Queen's Bench Division, a Law Commissioner, Rouse Ball Professor of English Law at the University of Cambridge, and Fellow and Tutor in Law at Merton from 1973 to 1994. His latest book, Key Ideas in Law: The Rule of Law and the Separation of Powers was published by Hart in 2021.
