Julia Parry (1989)
Teacher and Author
Brought up in Africa, I have spent most of my career teaching English in secondary schools (and loving it). My first degree was at St Andrews in English, and I then did a PGCE at Merton. I have recently returned to London after spending 11 fulfilling years living in Madrid. My first book of non-fiction, The Shadowy Third: Love, Letters and Elizabeth Bowen was published in 2021, and received the Royal Society of Literature Christopher Bland Prize in 2022. I continue to teach, and am currently working on a second book.
