My career has been in international news media. I worked at BBC News for 13 years, including eight as Chief Executive of BBC World News and bbc.com. I have also held senior roles at the Financial Times and Sky, as well as four years as Strategy Director at Ofcom. I am now based at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism in Oxford where I am lead author of the annual Digital News Report.
