Jasleen Jolly (2017)

A/Prof Multidisciplinary Vision Science

I am a clinical academic specialising in the neuroscience of low vision and genetic eye disease. I specialise in multidisciplinary work combining optometry, ophthalmology, neuroscience and qualitative methods with an aim to improving quality of life. I have worked across the world in various settings to gain a wide range of experience. I am actively involved in clinical research in the fields of retinal gene therapy, surgical outcomes, visual neuroscience, and low vision measurement as well as management.

I currently work mainly in consulting to improve how clinical trials are planned, conducted and measured. I also work in many international advisory groups and liaise with regulatory authorities. I am keen to support the next generation of clinical academics and have mentored several medical students, junior doctors and other health professionals.

I am very passionate about equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. It is not enough to treat patients but we must also create a more inclusive society that will accept all members as our patients have valuable skills and knowledge and are not just patients.
