Law Enforcement and Policing

I have worked in UK law enforcement since graduating from my MA in Classical Archaeology in January 2014.

Starting as an intelligence analyst at the National Crime Agency (NCA), the UK’s lead organisation for tackling serious and organised crime, in March of that year I was responsible for producing strategic intelligence assessments of the criminal threat to the UK. This involved close collaboration with partners across government, policing and overseas. As a result, I have significant experience in the operational policing environment.

I progressed into several roles in the NCA’s Strategy department, leading the development of the Agency’s new organisational strategy, briefing senior leaders including the Director General, driving major reform to the Agency’s funding model, and bringing about significant improvements to the way that the NCA plans for the future.

Most recently, I took on the role of Head of Strategic Planning and Risk at the Metropolitan Police, playing a leading part in developing A New Met for London – the force’s two-year plan for fundamental reform.
