Henrik Hannemann (2012)
Originally from Germany but after having spent my 6th form years at a boarding school in Hertfordshire, I ventured to Scotland for my undergraduate degree at St Andrews reading for Biology and Economics.
Subsequently I moved to Oxford to continue my studies with an MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from which I developed my DPhil proposal which also brought me to Merton. While at Merton I was, and to some degree still am, very much involved with the Boat Club and the MCR.
Following on from my DPhil I moved back to Germany in 2017 and worked in consulting and project management before moving into my current work for one of the federal states in Germany and the Bundesrat (Federal Council), where I am on the committee on Environmental Affairs and Economic Affairs of the Bundesrat.
