Giovanni Rosso

Fitzjames Early Career Researcher in Economics

Background:

I am a macroeconomist, specializing in international macroeconomics and microfinance. Prior to joining Merton, I graduated with a BSc in Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method from the London School of Economics (LSE) and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge. I completed my DPhil (PhD) in Economics at the University of Oxford. I have worked as a researcher at the Bank of England, the Swiss National Bank and the European Central Bank.

Research:

My research studies how market structures shape the transmission of shocks from the micro level to aggregate macroeconomic outcomes. It does so by combining microdata and theory, and adopts this common approach across different settings in international economics: cross-border trade, financial markets, and energy markets.
