Dr Gianlucca Veggiani (2012)

I am an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University, where I lead a research programme at the intersection of protein engineering, immunology and cancer biology. I completed my PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford as a member of Merton College, supported by a Merton College Scholarship and the UK Medical Research Council.

Following Oxford, I moved to the University of Toronto for postdoctoral training, where I developed technologies for studying and manipulating cellular signalling. I joined Louisiana State University in 2022 and established my independent research programme in 2023. My laboratory develops engineered proteins and antibodies to understand disease-associated cellular signalling and to create new approaches for cancer diagnostics and immunotherapy.
