Senior Research Leader, Computer-aided Drug Design/Predictive Sciences (Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry)
After graduating in Chemistry from Oxford, I studied for an MSc and PhD in Information Studies at Sheffield University. I then began my career in the pharma/biotech industry in the field of computer-aided drug design. I have stayed in this area for the duration of my career working for a number of different companies, from a small start-up to large pharma and contract research organisations. I greatly enjoy the creative process of drug discovery and its interdisciplinary nature. I have been able to publish work and also have been named as a co-inventor on patents. I have also had the privilege of travelling to scientific conferences and presenting research at them.
