Senior Editor, Oxford English Dictionary (OUP)
After graduating from Merton I went on to graduate studies in linguistics - an MPhil at Somerville and a DPhil at Trinity College Oxford. After an unsuccessful round of applications for academic research jobs in 2021 I was fortunate to get an entry level editorial job at the Oxford English Dictionary, where I have now worked for five years.
As well as working on the dictionary, I enjoy contributing to other projects in my department, such as the development of our linguistic corpora. I feel lucky to work in a role that puts my academic skills to use, and I find it very meaningful to contribute daily to the OED, a uniquely ambitious language research project.
