Aaron Davies (1997)

I’m a Portfolio Manager at a hedge fund, where I develop and manage systematic trading strategies across foreign exchange and equity index options.

I spent around ten years working in investment banking as an FX options market maker before moving into hedge fund portfolio management. My role combines financial markets, mathematics and software development, using quantitative research and technology to build trading strategies and risk management tools.

I’ve always enjoyed applying mathematics to practical problems, and much of my career has involved turning complex ideas into working models and systems. I take a hands-on approach to my work, combining an understanding of financial markets with analytical problem-solving and programming.

Having benefited from my own university experience, I’m keen to support students as they explore their career options, understand how their academic skills translate into the workplace, and navigate the transition from university into a professional career.
