Luuk Huitink Gives Inaugural Lecture in Amsterdam

On Wednesday September 30^th at 4.30pm, our former Leventis Fellow in Ancient Greek (and first holder of that post), Professor Dr Luuk Huitink, delivered his inaugural lecture as the new Chair of Greek and Latin at the University of Amsterdam.

His lecture was entitled ‘A Good Beginning is Half the Work: Where Greek and Roman Historians Start Their Histories’ (Een goed begin is het halve werk: Waar Griekse en Romeinse historici hun geschiedenis laten beginnen). Members of the Merton community and the Faculty of Classics from Oxford were in attendance at this wonderful occasion, as were colleagues in Classics from around the world.
