Merton in the City

We are grateful to Ian Taylor (1975), Chairman of the Board of Royal Opera House Trustees, for hosting this event. The evening started with a drinks reception in the Linbury Theatre Foyer from 7:15pm. We then learned a little more about the venue as we walked to the Clore Studio, where we enjoyed talks and further drinks from 8:00pm. Mr Taylor, who is President and Chief Executive of Vitol, shared highlights of his career and his experience of the oil markets. Joining him as guest speaker, we were fortunate to have Alex Beard CBE, who discussed the challenges and rewards of his role as Chief Executive of the Royal Opera House.
