The sopranos and altos of The Choir of Merton College sang Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, op.28, in the first Music Society lunchtime recital of term. This magical suite of carols is written for upper voices and harp, and was composed as Britten returned from the USA in 1943.
