Our speaker this year was alumna Dr Leana Wen (2007), Visiting Professor at the George Washington University (GWU) Milken Institute School of Public Health, columnist at The Washington Post, and a CNN medical analyst. She recently published Lifelines: A Doctor’s Journey in the Fight for Public Health.

Dr Wen discussed her book and the future of medicine and public health, this was followed by a Q&A session.

This event was the last in the College's 40 Years Series of online lectures, celebrating 40 years of women at Merton. It was hosted by the Warden, Professor Irene Tracey, and chaired by the Merton Society President, Dame Philippa Whipple (1984).
