New Honorary Fellows Elected

Four new Honorary Fellows were elected at last month's Governing Body meeting:

Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe QPM is currently Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. Sir Bernard, who matriculated in 1988 and read Jurisprudence, was made a Knight Bachelor for services to policing in January this year.

Professor Lyndal Roper FBA was appointed Regius Professor of Modern History in 2011. A native of Melbourne, Australia, she is the author of a variety of ground-breaking works on witchcraft. She was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2011.

Professor Dana Scott FBA is emeritus Hillman University Professor of Computer Science, Philosophy, and Mathematical Logic at Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania. His research career has spanned computer science, mathematics, and philosophy, and he was jointlyawarded the A.M. Turing Award in 1976 for his work on automata theory.

Baron Williams of Oystermouth PC FBA FRSL FLSW was Visitor of Merton College during his ten-year term as Archbishop of Canterbury. A poet and theologian, he was created a life peer in January 2013.
