Passiontide at Merton: In Time of Trouble – JS Bach

Date: Saturday 28 March 2015
Time: 15:00
Venue
Merton College Chapel

Part of the Passiontide festival, the Choir performed JS Bach’s motet Fürchte dich nicht.  Daniel Hyde, as part of his project to perform the complete organ works of JS Bach over the 2014-15 academic year, played a selection of these, alongside some new commissions for the Orgelbüchlein project. Overseen by Merton's organ teacher William Whitehead, this involves the completion of various unfinished chorale preludes; the works premièred were by Neil Cox and Alexander L'Estrange.
