Dr Henry Spelman

Leventis Research Fellow in Ancient Greek

I am interested in Greek poetry and whatever is relevant to these texts, which I take to include pretty much everything about the ancient world. My research primarily centres around archaic lyric. Pindar, the subject of my first monograph and also another in preparation, is a particular obsession. After having said all I have to say about him, I plan on trying to work out what I have to say about Greek comedy.
