Historians head for Cornwall for annual reading party

Merton’s final-year historians and their tutors enjoyed their annual reading party in Cornwall at the end of March. They combined visits to Tintagel, Padstow, and former Merton tutor Philip Waller’s home on Bodmin Moor, with discussion of new history books on subjects ranging from the Roman Empire to Civil Rights, via medieval women and Charles I, as well as the latest volume by prolific Mertonian Jeremy Black.
