Philosophy

Research Interests

My main research interest is the history of ethics, especially the medieval and early modern periods. I currently focus on the ethical views of Francisco Suárez (1548-1617), a philosopher who, although once highly-regarded and widely seen as one of the primary conduits between medieval scholasticism and early modern philosophy, has been strangely ignored in recent scholarship.

I am also interested in philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and epistemology, again especially as discussed in the medieval and early modern periods.
