Research Interests
  • The genetics of neurodevelopmental disorders including autism, specific language impairment, dyslexia and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.
  • The genetics of relative hand skill using a quantitative trait loci approach.
  • The functional analysis of the Menkes disease copper transporting ATPase, which trafficks from the trans-Golgi network to the plasma membrane under conditions of increased copper.
  • The functional analysis of chorein, a large protein defective in chorea acanthocytosis, an adult onset neurodegenerative disease.
Teaching Interests

Supervision of graduate (DPhil and MSc) and undergraduate students in the laboratory. Lectures to MSc Neuroscience students and Human Sciences undergraduate students.
