Global Wellbeing
My research is on civil war, investigating the impact of how non-state armed groups are organised on how such conflicts can best be countered and resolved. I also study the role of non-state or Track Two mediation initiatives. Areas of specialisation include inter-group conflict, ethnicity, conflict resolution, NGOs and non-state peacebuilding organisations, human security, New Humanitarianism, traditional leadership and traditional leadership institutions.
I have taught graduates and undergraduates at Oxford University since 2007, on courses including Development Studies, Global Governance and the History and Politics of the Developing World. Within these broader subject areas my special interest lies in the interaction between the politics of violence and development.
