Research Interests

I am a theoretical geophysicist, interested in the application of continuum mechanics to processes occurring within the Earth, and in the use of inverse theory to learn about the Earth’s internal structure.  

During my doctorate, I have worked on the theory of seismic wave propagation in linear viscoelastic materials, and have also investigated the related problems of post-seismic deformation and post-glacial rebound.

Future work will focus on the Earth’s free oscillations, and their application to determining the broad-scale structure of the Earth’s interior.
