Restrictions on immigration from the EU; talk of withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR); controversies over the European Arrest Warrant—these are but a few issues in a long list of cases that trouble Britain’s relationship with the EU's institutions, as well as its 27 other members.

Such developments raise a number of important questions for Britain: does the country’s future lie in Europe? How will the British government maintain good relations with its European neighbours? And, what will be the new government’s priorities with regard to the EU?

Global Directions organised a debate with local parliamentary candidates on these issues.
