The University of Oxford represents an educational institution specifically designated for charitable status under the Income Tax Act (Canada) and Regulations [Section 3503 thereto]. Gifts made by Canadian taxpayers to Merton College via the University of Oxford Development Trust are therefore fully tax-deductible.
If you would like to make a donation to Merton College, you can do so in two ways:
By post. Please download and print a donation form and send it with your cheque, payable to 'The University of Oxford Development Trust', to the Development Office, Merton College. We will pass your donation to the University Development Office who will issue a tax receipt, usually within two months. |
Online by credit or debit card. Please visit the University of Oxford's Online Giving pages, select 'Colleges' from the menu, and complete the online form. Remember to check the box indicating that you are a Canadian taxpayer and would like the University Development Office to issue a tax receipt. The University can only process credit card donations in sterling. |
All gifts made via the University of Oxford Development Trust in favour of Merton College will be forwarded to the college on a monthly basis.

Hong Kong residents can make both single and regular donations to Merton via the University of Oxford China Office. Donations of more than HK$100 may be claimed for tax deduction purposes.
Please download and print a Donation Form and send it to the University of Oxford China Office, specifying Merton College as the recipient of your donation. Donations made in this way are forwarded to Merton on a regular basis by the University Development Office.
