The 750th Anniversary Campaign, Sustaining Excellence, is Merton’s largest ever fundraising campaign and is vital to sustain the College as a centre of academic excellence at a national and international level.
The Campaign Goal is to raise £30 million, as we celebrate Merton’s 750th Anniversary in 2014.
Merton’s 750th Anniversary Campaign aims to address the following academic priorities:
Guaranteeing the Tutorial System - £15 million
Supporting Students - £8 million
Protecting and resourcing our Historic Buildings - £7 million

Merton has a continuous programme of refurbishment, both to protect and maintain its ancient buildings and to provide new facilities in keeping with the changing demands of society.
Approximately 10% of students at Merton now have some kind of disability or welfare/hardship situation during their time at Merton. The College has a strong Welfare Team, but it requires financial support to keep it running.
The College currently lacks an appropriate lecture theatre for term-time student use and for its conferences, which of course would then generate more funds for the College. This would also be used as a Music Room. The fundraising target for this project is £3 million.
The College's current sports facilities are in bad need of renovation and upgrading. We plan to build a new sports complex, which will cost in the region of £2.5 million.
