At Merton, we plan a programme of Gaudies by matriculation years, so that you are able to come back to College, meet up with old friends, and renew acquaintance with your tutors. Gaudies are hugely popular, and it is wise to book well in advance of the date!

The Gaudy weekends begin on Saturday afternoon, when Mertonians usually arrive well in time to find their rooms, before the Chapel Service and pre-dinner drinks in the Ante-Chapel. The highlight of the day is a black tie dinner in Hall, with after-dinner speeches by a representative from the year group and by the Warden. Accommodation is provided in College for the Saturday night, and the event ends with breakfast on the Sunday morning.

Every year we celebrate a special 'Golden Anniversary' Reunion in College for Old Members celebrating their 50th anniversary since arriving at Merton. The day's programme includes drinks, luncheon, speeches, a short tour of the College and afternoon tea.
